Bob Berger Retires Hubbard Woods Motors, Winnetka.

It was 1961 when Bob Berger leased a run down Phillips 66 station off of the main road and began to specialize in servicing VW Beetles. In 1966 Hubbard Woods Motors moved to its current location, 985 Green Bay Road, Winnetka, IL and has been a thriving business since!

The business has evolved over the years; gas station, car wash, (one of the first “roll over” car washes in the country) and car repair work to begin. Due to a high demand for car servicing, it was decided to expand specializing in Volvos instead of taking on all brands. Over the years, business has steadily increased and they now also service mini cooper, Saab and Audi. They have been able to do so by staying current in the areas of automotive technology and training. Volvos remain their core business and they now provide service to some of the grandchildren of their original Volvo customers. Their reputation for proving top notch service has remained a constant over the years. They attribute the success of their business to their experienced employees who are dedicated to customer satisfaction.

Thank you to Bob for being such a long standing partner, past member of the WNCC Board of Directors and active member of the Winnetka-Northfield Chamber of Commerce! His community involvement throughout the years demonstrates his commitment to Winnetka. To say Hubbard Woods Motors is a landmark of Winnetka and will be sorely missed when their doors close and Bob retires early this summer (first part of June) is a vast under statement! Bob believes he will have no problem filling his time. He and wife Sandy have 4 children and 7 grand children to help occupy his “free time”. There is no doubt Bob will enjoy his retirement to the fullest and we wish him all the best in the next phase of his adventure!
