The Floured Apron Celebrated “1st Birthday!”

The Winnetka-Northfield Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony in conjunction with the first birthday party celebration of The Floured Apron, a non profit social enterprise bakery that creates specialty baked goods hand-crafted by women building brighter futures through participation in their job training and mentoring program. The organization works out of the Winnetka Congregational Church, 725 Pine Street, Winnetka, IL.

At the conclusion of the ribbon cutting, guest were treated to a selection of bakery items and appetizers provided by members of the organization. A video produced by The Telling Well was premiered which highlighted the story of The Floured Apron and it’s founder, Emily Boling. There was a silent auction featuring specialty cakes along with a raffle of various gift baskets that were composed of items donated by their partners. Approximately 150 people were in attendance to support the organization.
