The Winnetka-Northfield Chamber of Commerce along with the Village of Winnetka and Winnetka Park District orchestrated the 2015 Holiday Tree Lighting in Winnetka on Friday, December 4 at the Metra Station in Winnetka. The evening included Victorian carolers, hot cocoa provided by the Winnetka Starbucks, cookies provided by The Grand Food Center, as Winnetka Village President Gene Grabel flipped the switch to light the tree. Santa and Mrs Claus made a grand entrance riding on the Winnetka Fire Truck and the Grinch came and stole Christmas. The crowd paraded to The Book Stall, 811 Elm Street in Winnetka and after reading “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, the Grinch gave Christmas back! The crowd then proceeded to Berkshire Hathaway Homes Services, 538 Chestnut Street in Winnetka for more caroling, cocoa, treats and extra Santa time! The event’s partners were Get Dwell, (1046-C Gage Street, Winnetka) J.McLaughlin (567-A Lincoln Avenue Winnetka) and First Bank & Trust Company. (100 Green Bay Road, Winnetka)
