The WNCC Holds 40th Annual Recognition Lunch

The Winnetka-Northfield Chamber of Commerce held it’s 40th Annual Recognition Lunch on Wednesday, April 6 at the Winnetka Community House in Winnetka. A fashion show and a silent auction were also featured in the event. Over 225 people attended to recognize the honorees. The funds raised will be used to promote economic growth, development, and involvement in the local business and civic communities.”

The lunch was established to honor Winnetka and Northfield residents (a Man of the Year and a Woman of the Year) who have made a difference in their communities, outstanding business leaders, distinguished educators along with public safety officers and village employees of both municipalities. This year a lifetime achieve award was added to the list of honors bestowed.

This year’s honorees are: (left to right) Dr. Daniel Ryan, Principal Hubbard Woods School, Winnetka; Trisha Kocanda, Superintendent of Winnetka Public Schools: Lucy Callahan, Business Leader of the Year-Peachtree Place; Corporal Thomas Hanus, Winnetka Public Safety Officer of the Year: Gwen Trindl, Lifetime Achievement Award; Jill Brasseur, Winnetka-Northfield Library Employee of the Year, Tom Doar, Educator of the Year-North Shore Country Day School; Julie Pfeffer, Principal Crow Island School, Winnetka, Fire Captain Robert Bowne, Northfield Public Safety Officer of the Year, Jane Goldenberg, Woman of the Year; John Thomas, Man of the Year.
